1. Golconda Fort

Golconda Fort is one of the best-preserved historical grandeur in India and is located in the western part of the lovely city of Hyderabad, about 9 km from Hussain Sagar Lake.
Golconda is derived from the word “Golla Konda,” meaning “Shepherd’s Hill” in Telugu. The Kakatiya Dynasty built the Golconda fort in the year 1143, and it is said that it is where the enormous Koh-I-Noor diamond was kept.

The fort is one of the must-see locations in Hyderabad because of its marvelous architecture, legends, history, and mystique. The light and sound show in the evening add to its charm.
The historic place showcases an exquisite architectural fusion of Hindu and Islamic design. It comprises multiple gates and bastions along with parade grounds, halls, royal apartments, and mosques where you can stroll along and take amazing photographs of this ancient treasure.
2. Charminar

Charminar is one of the significant monuments in Andhra Pradesh. It is situated in the heart of Hyderabad. This monument was built in the Indo-Islamic architectural style in 1591 by Muḥammad Qulī Quṭb Shah, the fifth king of the Quṭb Shāhī dynasty.
The four distinctive and towering minarets, roughly 56 meters in length, are the main attractions of the mosque. It is the oldest mosque in the state that has been preserved to its glory.
This historical landmark has two stories above the arches. A roofless mosque on the top floor faces Mecca, and the Balconies on the ground floor provide a beautiful view of the neighborhood, especially the Lal Bazar. It also has 45 other prayer areas.
This monument is surrounded by shops, as it is a famous tourist destination. You can buy dazzling pieces of Bangles studded with colored stones and glasses from the nearby bazaars of Charminar.
3. Chowmahalla Palace

Being the thrown of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty, the Chowmahallat was the palace of the Nizams of Hyderabad when they used to be the ruler of the region.
The construction goes back to 1750, and the elegantly styled exotic structure has a beautiful blend of lovely influential architecture. Covering an area of 180,000 sq. meters, the palace has two gorgeous courtyards, a Darbaar hall, and gardens with fountains.
At the southern courtyard, you will find four palaces, and each has a neoclassical style of architecture and is the oldest part of the Chowmahalla palace.

Moving towards the Northern courtyard, it has the Bara Imam, Mughal arches and Domes, and Persian Ornate render work that enhances the Khilawat Mubarak.
The Khilwat Mubarak that you see is the heart of the whole palace. The Takht-e-Nishan was laid on the glamorous pure marble of the Darbaar Hall, where the Asaf Jahi rulers used to sit and rule from.
There is more to see and know inside this magnificent palace which I’m sure you will enjoy looking at and experiencing. Although nowadays only 49,000 sq. meters is left to be seen.
4. Warangal Fort

The Warangal Fort is another important historical destination in Andhra Pradesh and is one of the architectural wonders of the Kakatiya Dynasty. It was constructed in the 13th century on a hillock called Ekashila.
The fort, built by King Ganapatideva and his daughter Rani Rudrama later, represents the historical opulence of the state. It is a well-known landmark in the Telangana State and the ideal illustration of superior architectural design and historical wealth.
Even though the fort is now in ruins, the remnants still offer a glimpse of the breathtaking artistry and mesmerizing craftsmanship seen in the motifs, sculptures, stonework, etc. Many battles have taken place at Warangal Fort, and some of its components have been destroyed by various invaders.
5. Qutb Shahi Tombs

Located in Hyderabad, the complex sits in the northern part of the Golkonda fort. The tomb complex dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
The Qutb Shahi tombs display mosques and tombs from the Qutb Shahi Dynasty. The actual grave liners are enfolded by sarcophagus in the heart of each of the tombs. Blue and green tiles covered the domes very vividly.

The necropolises reflect the engrossing architectures of the Persians, Pathans, and Hindus. The spot is home to the whole Dynasty’s burial and is the first of its kind. The stucco ornamentation with the grey Granite is mind-boggling to look at.
An entire era is looked upon through the columns, arches, dome minarets, galleries, and beautifully landscaped gardens known as Ibrahim Bagh, along with the Banjara Darwaza at the center of the Bagh. It is preserved and maintained well and is the oldest Historical monument in Hyderabad.
It is astonishing to look deeper into all of them.
6. Mecca Masjid

Being one of the largest in India, the Mecca Masjid can hold up to 10,000 people. It is a Friday Mosque that hosts the Jumu’ah prayer.
Constructed in the 17th century AD, it is situated close to the famous Charminar and Laal Bazaar. The central arc of the masjid is built out of bricks made of the soil brought down from Mecca, and therefore the name Mecca Masjid.
The masjid’s architectural styling is stunning and shows the enchanting work of the Qutb Shahis.
The masjid has great religious significance, filled with rich history and culture. The atmosphere is peaceful, lovely, relaxing, and holy.
7. Chaya Someswara Temple

Situated at Panagal, Nalgonda, the Kunduru Chola rulers built the temple in the 11th century AD.
The town of Panagal is a historic place with a long legacy, as it was the capital of the Kadumba dynasty. The importance of this place is mentioned in the old inscriptions carved on stones and pillars near the temple.
The temple complex has three Garbhagrihas. The main is the Trikuta shrine. There are six other shrines within the complex wall. While at the site, you can enter the temple through the southern entrance, and then you will get a view of the marvelous architectural structures.

The architecture elaborates on different times and styles, and the pillars depict episodes from Ramayana, Purana, and Mahabharata.
There is a lot more to be seen in the temple, and it’s very peaceful and pleasant to worship here.
8. Malwala Palace

The Malwala palace has a Mughal-Rajasthani and Hyderabadi courtyard style of architecture. It was built in 1845 and proudly shows off its brilliant wooden pavilion.
Each pavilion at the royal palace was named after each of the then-rulers. It was divided into two wings; the western and the eastern.
The western portion was for official purposes, and the eastern was where the royal Malwa family used to reside.
The lovely building consisted of numerous paintings and galleries, a library, a large hall, and a garden with a masterpiece fountain.
