Actual name

The actual name of Red Fort was Quila-e-Mubarak. Shah Jahan built the fort when he shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi.


Construction time

It took Ustad Ahmed 10 long years to build RedFort. The construction originally started in the year 1638.


Kohinoor Diamond

The valuable Kohinoor Diamond was actually a part of Shah Jahan's royal throne in Red Fort, located in Diwan-i-Khas. 


Rang Mahal

Rang Mahal or the palace of colours is one of the beautiful palaces in Red Fort with remarkable architecture.



Two magnificent gates which looks similar, serves as an entrance to the Red Fort, one is the Lahori Gate and the other is Delhi Gate. 



The breathtaking architecture of Red Fort reveals it's octagonal shape when viewed from the top. 


Independence Day

Since the first Independence Day, every year the Prime Minister gives speech from the Red Fort.
