Sacred Games‘ is an Indian Netflix original series, based on Vikram Chandra’s novel ‘Sacred Games’.

This series is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. It is probably the best Indian series on Netflix and was nominated for Emmy.

The story starts with Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) who is in Mumbai Police. He receives a phone call from infamous crime lord/ don Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who has been missing for 16 years.

Then the story flows as Sartaj in collaboration with officer Anjali Mathur (Radhika Apte) starts the investigation. The first episode shows us how Gaitonde rose to power as a notorious crime lord in Mumbai in flashback.

In season two, Gaitonde’s story continues in flashback. Ganesh was sent to Africa by RAW officer Ms. Yadav and there he met Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi). There they got involved in a plan to destroy the world with nuclear bombs and create a new one that would be conflict-free.

The mind-boggling performance of Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, and many others with a punchy storyline makes it the best Indian series on Netflix.

2. Ghoul

Nida Rahim (Radhika Apte) is a military officer in this series. Ali Saeed (Mahesh Balraj), a notorious terrorist was caught and was taken to military base for interrogation and then the paranormal activities started in the base.

As a horror series, ‘Ghoul’ received positive reviews from critics, making it worthy for the second position in the list of best Indian Web series on Netflix.

The story is of Shalini (Huma Qureshi) who was sent to a “re-education center” for just swimming in a private pool.

She was accused of wasting water, her husband was killed by goons and her daughter was kidnapped in front of her.

So, she starts searching for her daughter. The timeline of the story is late 2040, when India is being governed by Aryavarta.

Thought the concept of the story is mind-boggling but somehow anticipated.

But no such series has been made in India like this, which makes it third-best Indian series on Netflix.

4. Bard of Blood

It is an Indian fictional spy thriller series, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, based on the novel ‘Bard of Blood’ by Bilal Siddiqui.

The story is of Indian spy Kabir Anand aka Adonis (Emraan Hashmi) who goes to Pakistan to release the other four Indian intelligence officers who were captured by terrorists.

The tight-packed storyline, cinematography allow it to be the fourth-best Indian series on Netflix.

This series revolves around Dhruv Vats (Dhruv Sehgal) and Kavya (Mithila Palkar), a couple who are in a live-in relationship in Mumbai.

The sweet acting of Mithila and Dhruv is much appreciated by viewers, which makes it to fifth place in the best Indian series on Netflix.
