Step 1: Go to the official website of IRCTC Tourism

  2. Next, click on the “Retiring Room” option on the top menu bar.

Step 2: Login into the portal

  1. Now, click on the ‘Login’ option at the top of the page.
  2. Next, enter your IRCTC username and password.
  3. You can also log in as a guest by clicking on the ‘Guest Login’ option and then entering your email and mobile number.
  4. Next, click on the ‘Login’ button.

Step 3: Enter your PNR number

  1. Once you are logged in, enter your PNR number (the 10-digit number printed on your train ticket).
  2. Next, click on the ‘Search’ button.
  3. A new page will open up.

Step 4: Choose your station

  1. Now, you will be asked to choose the station where you want to book the retiring room.
  2. Select the source or destination station.
  3. A new page will open.

  1. Now, enter your check-in and check-out date and time.
  2. Next, select the slot duration (for how long you need the room).
  3. Next, select bed type and AC status.
  4. Next, select the passengers for whom you want the room.

  6. Next, click on the ‘Ok’ button. A new page will open.

  1. On the new page, the details of all the available rooms will be displayed.
  2. Now, select the available room (or rooms) and slot duration as per your preference.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Proceed’ button.

Step 7: Enter your details

  1. Now, allot rooms to specific passengers (if applicable).
  2. Next, enter your personal details in the specified fields.
  3. Next, enter your identity proof details such as ID card type and ID card number (of one passenger).
  4. Next, click on the ‘Proceed’ button.

Step 8: Complete the payment

  1. Now, check the complete booking summary.
  2. Next, tick the ‘I Agree’ checkbox.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Make Payment’ button.
  4. An OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Enter it in the specified field.
  5. Next, click on the ‘Verify’ button.
  6. You will be taken to a payment gateway. Complete the payment using your preferred method.

Your retiring room will be successfully booked. You can take a printout of the booking confirmation by clicking on the ‘Print Voucher’ option.

You need to visit the railway station with your train ticket, booking receipt, and identity proof. You need to collect the key to your booked retiring room from the caretaker or station master. Return the key to your booked retiring room to the caretaker or station master from whom you have collected it.
