To create an account on the Passport Seva portal in India,
Step 1: Go to the official website
- First, go to the official portal of Passport Seva at passportindia.gov.in.
- On the homepage, click on the ‘New user Registration’ button.
- The user registration form will open.
Step 2: Select Passport Office
- Next, select the ‘Passport Office’ under the ‘Register to apply at’ option.
- Next, select the city of the ‘Passport Office’ from the given options.

Step 3: Enter personal details
- Next, enter your ‘Given Name’ in the specified field.
- Next, enter your ‘Surname’ in the specified field.
- Next, click on the ‘Calander’ icon and select your ‘Date of Birth’.
- Next, enter your ‘E-mail Id’ in the specified field.
Step 4: Create Login ID and Password
- Next, select the ‘Do you want your Login ID to be same as E-mail Id?’.
- Next, enter the ‘Login Id’ in the specified field based on the option selected.
- Next, set a ‘Password’ in the specified field.
- Next, enter the same password in the ‘Confirm Password’ field.
- Next, select a ‘Hint Question’ from the given list.

Step 5: Verify your Email
- A new page will appear showing the message to confirm the registration.
- A link will be sent to your provided Email ID.
- Next, go to email and click on the link given.
- A new page will open.
- Next, enter the ‘User ID’ in the specified field.

- Your account will be successfully activated.
Step 6: Login to the Portal
- Next, click on the ‘Click here to login’ option.
- Next, enter the ‘Login Id’ in the specified field.
- Next, click on the ‘Continue’ button.
- Next, enter the ‘Password’ set during the registration process.
- Next, enter the captcha in the ‘Enter Character Displayed’ field.

You will be logged in to the passport portal.
